Junior golf events are a chance to make friends and have fun playing casually, not too competitively. So just keep trying and you will have fun, regardless on if you make the golf team or not.

But if you want to play golf, go to your local respected public course and ask about camps. The one I am currently going to is a week long, play 9 hoels a day, meet new people from other areas, and have fun. I’m sure one of your public courses have camps.
And if you ask at the pro shop, they will likely have a list of junior events, so check there
