While keeping your standard high is commendable, don’t discredit your 3.5 GPA. Taking Honors courses is supposed to be difficult, and yet you seem to have a nice balance between them and your golf.
Where you go to school is really a matter of what you want out of your life. Do you want to be a golfer first, scholar second, or the other way around? Maybe a balance of the two? My advice is to figure out what you would want to be if golf doesn’t pan out (maybe an injury, or a loss of desire for the game- hopefully these don’t ever happen, but keep a Plan B just in case) and go from there. Do you want to go into law? Maybe Michigan, or Harvard (but golf would be limited because of the climate). If you want golf to come first, there are all sorts of schools in AZ, TX and the Southeast that can accommodate you- and golf can be year-round.
You’re still young, so keep your options open. Hopefully by the time next summer rolls around, you’ll have an idea of the top 10 or so schools, then you can really get into the process. Keep up the good work!
Have you consulted with your parents or aren’t they part of the equation ? Forget about ” hoping to get better grades “. With the number of young people playing today, competition will be greater at both the academic and sports level.
